The AdminLanding Vault is a client-side-encrypted, permanent document store. Files are encrypted with AES-256 in your browser or app before upload; the key is derived from your passphrase and never sent to our servers, so we cannot read your documents. Unlike generated rental and cross-border documents — which auto-delete after a 24-hour time-to-live — anything saved to the Vault is kept for the life of your account. Access is protected by your passphrase plus a one-time recovery code, with optional TOTP two-factor authentication, and you can share a single document through a controlled link. Encrypted files are stored in the EU (Google Cloud europe-west3, Frankfurt) under the GDPR, and the Vault is included with every pack at no extra cost. If you lose both your passphrase and recovery code, the files cannot be recovered — that is the trade-off of true client-side encryption.

Encryption, recovery, storage and cost.

What does "client-side encryption" mean here?
Your files are encrypted inside your browser or app using AES-256 before upload. The encryption key is derived from your passphrase and stays on your device — it is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. This means that even AdminLanding, hosting providers or a court order cannot decrypt your Vault contents without your passphrase.
What happens if I lose my passphrase?
Use your one-time recovery code — it is the backup that re-establishes access. Because encryption is client-side and the key never reaches us, if you lose both the passphrase and the recovery code, we genuinely cannot recover your files: there is no reset link that would decrypt them. Store your recovery code somewhere safe when you set up the Vault.
How is the Vault different from the documents I generate?
Documents generated by the rental and cross-border modules are ephemeral: they carry a 24-hour time-to-live in Firestore and Storage and then auto-delete. The Vault is the opposite — it is permanent, encrypted storage. Saving a generated document to the Vault is what makes it durable.
Is the Vault an extra cost?
No. The encrypted Vault is included with every pack — the free first rental property, the Rental Pack (€49), the Cross-Border Pack (€29), the Patrimoine Pack (€19) and every bundle. There is no separate Vault subscription.
Can I share a document from the Vault?
Yes. You can share an individual document through a controlled link — useful for sending a lease to a tenant or an attestation to an administration — without giving access to the rest of your Vault. You stay in control and the rest of your archive remains private.
Where is my data stored?
Encrypted files are stored on Google Cloud in the europe-west3 region (Frankfurt, Germany), inside the EU and under the GDPR. The plaintext never leaves your device. You can delete your data in full at any time from your account.
