Why a phone-first rental app matters in France

French rental compliance is paperwork-heavy: ALUR mandates a written lease with eleven required clauses, monthly rent receipts on tenant request (Article 21, loi 89-462), photo-evidenced états des lieux at entry and exit (décret 2016-382), and a 1- or 2-month deposit return window. Most landlord software treats this as a desktop spreadsheet problem. Rent treats it as a phone-camera problem.
